What’s that?  It’s Friday, you say?  Yay!  Let’s celebrate by just writing with Lisa-Jo (aka The Gypsy Mama) and her Five Minute Friday writing prompts.  The rules are simple: write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.

Today’s topic is “remember”.

Go

I remember hearing of You from the time I was a small child.  Your goodness, Your love, Your forgiveness, Your holiness.  I remember being taught what was good and right and pure and beautiful.

I remember my baptism after accepting Christ, Your only Son, as my Savior.  The warm water washing over my six-year-old self, the physical representation of what had already occurred in my heart and life.

I remember the years I walked with You, and I remember the years I strayed so far.  I remember the questions and doubts and longing for something to satisfy the void only You can fill.

I remember aching and confusion and dark clouds and sin embraced willingly for a time.  So much sin against One so good to me, from one who already called You Father.

You are gracious in loving and merciful in forgetting, in erasing, in making new.  Amazing in your ability to wash whiter than snow.

I remember my sin, but You don’t.

33 “This is the covenant I will make
with the house of Israel
after that time,” declares the LORD.
“I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
34 No longer will a man teach his neighbor,
or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,”
declares the LORD.
“For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”
~  Jeremiah 31:33-34

Friends, I hope you’ve experienced the power
of God’s forgiveness in your life.  It’s a free gift,
offered to all through Jesus Christ.

He loves you more than you can imagine!
