It has been a wild, wonderful week here, and today should be no exception. While many of my friends are chilled to the bone and digging out from under mountains of snow, we are due for an almost eighty degree day! Lord, you have a wonderful sense of humor and never cease to surprise me!
Fridays mean taking five minutes to play the free writing game with Lisa-Jo (aka The Gypsy Mama) and her community of writers.
You know the rules:
“On Fridays around these parts we stop, drop, and write.
For fun, for love of the sound of words, for play, for delight, for joy and celebration at the art of communication.
For only five short, bold, beautiful minutes. Unscripted and unedited. We just write without worrying if it’s just right or not.”
Today’s word is VIVID.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
It begins as a task to be completed, honestly. I see the black and white, and I know there will be something good waiting for me. But I’m tired and the coffee calls and the kids will be up soon. So much to distract.
But oh, how things change in the course of the seeking.
Words on the page become promises from a loving God, from a Father who knows and sees and loves. The stories come alive before my eyes, heroes of the faith, tales of redemption and sacrifice and love, always love.
As I read and search, I’m drawn in by a Father who would give anything, anything, to bring us home. His passion for us pops in vivid colors: emerald foliage of a garden home, azure skies after a rain, crimson for the blood that flowed on our behalf, amber for the streets of our forever home. A rainbow of promises to pursue us, win us, keep us, lavish His love upon us.
A Savior who calls to us – vividly, personally, freely – and the vibrant life that can be found in Him.
~ STOP ~
Linking up today with Lisa-Jo and friends! Won’t you join us?

Beautifully written … despite all the distractions!
Blessings,
Felecia

Jana – this was beautiful to read. I loved your “painting” with words – so expressive. Love the reminder of our Father’s bountiful love for us “a Father who would give anything, anything, to bring us home.” The strength of faith and courage behind these words was so uplifting for me to read – thank you!
