My middle child — my only son — starts kindergarten today. My sweet, funny, adorable baby boy is setting out for the big world, and I am a complete wreck.
I’m not usually a worrier, truly. I just want him to find his way in this world and grow into the man God intends. He’s an amazing little guy, and so smart it scares me (did I tell you he started reading at age three, all on his own?). He has a big vocabulary and an even bigger heart, and he can be so sweet it makes my heart ache. He’ll go to a wonderful school and has an incredible teacher this year, and for that I’m so very grateful, but he still has a lot of growing up to do.
.
.Would you say a prayer for him today, friends, and maybe one for my anxious mama-heart as well? Thank you so very much. You’re the cheese to my macaroni.
{ahem} And I’ll be in deep. trouble. if I don’t also give a shout-out to his big sister, who starts seventh grade today….
….and baby sister, who will be home without a playmate for the first time (heaven help us!!) My girls are the best!

I’d love to hear from you, friends!
Do you remember your first day of kindergarten?
Any tips for a nervous mama??

Praying for y’all as the kiddos go off to school today!
My dear friend, this is so hard. It is part of the separation of child from parent so he can grow into the person God intends him to be. You are obviously doing such a good job on your kiddos (I didn’t even know you had a 7th grader!) and you are such a godly, focused woman. Your purpose is so clear – at least to me – in your desire that your children grow up to love the Lord. Really, nothing else matters. If they are good with God, all else will fall into place.
Take your little one out for ice cream for breakfast and play. Chores can wait until tomorrow. I remember crying on the first day of school for every one of my children. But those tears are precious to your children, even if they don’t know they are being shed. Your love for them is evident.
Blessings.
Rosie
Lifting you all up now, my friend!!
Anxious to hear how his day goes (and yours):)
