Affiliate Links
From time to time, you may see links to products or services on this blog (mainly books, because I love ‘em!) I’m an Amazon Affiliate, which means if you click a link on my blog that takes you to a product on Amazon.com and you buy something there, I could receive a small commission as a result of that sale. (Hasn’t happened yet, but it could!)
Paid Advertisements
I don’t accept paid advertisements, and at this point I don’t plan to start. If this ever changes, I’ll let you know right up front.
Other Forms of Compensation
Sometimes companies and individuals offer a free product or service in exchange for your review. For example, a publisher might offer a free copy of a book that I can keep if I’ll post my honest review of the book. If this ever happens, I’ll disclose exactly what I received in the review post. I’ll never be dishonest; if I’m not sure I’ll actually like the product or service, I won’t accept it or write the review.
Friend Endorsements
One thing I will do is give a shout-out for my friends. I’m blessed to have lots of talented friends who are bloggers, authors, independent consultants, crafters, Etsy store owners, etc. If I like what they do and think you might, too, I may mention them on the blog and link to their site. I like to do this just because they’re my friends; there’s no money changing hands or anything. I’ll identify them as my friend rather than a sponsor or advertiser. It’s just being neighborly, y’all.
The Bottom Line
The important thing for you to know is I will not link to a product, service, or site unless it’s one I personally support, endorse, or generally think is wonderful AND in line with the family-friendly, Christ-focused mission of this blog. If I wouldn’t recommend it to my own mom, husband, or kids, I won’t recommend it to you, either. Period.
Questions?
If you have questions about this disclosure statement, feel free to contact me.
P.S. This disclosure policy was developed as a good-faith attempt to meet the requirements set forth for bloggers by the FTC. I’ve tried to cover all the bases in plain English, not that legal gibberish that no one actually understands. Hope it helps. *whew*
